Claire is a Peer Learning Advisor of the Accounting FIG. Claire was nominated by her Co-Facilitator Shannon Ferguson for her drive to engage their students early in the semester. Claire was inspired to become a Peer Learning Advisor after her experience as a Summer Welcome leader showed her “how much of a difference you can make be just being someone others can go to for guidance and support.” On just the second week of class, Claire brought a recruiter from an accounting firm to answer students’ career questions and help them practice networking early. “In that classroom, the entire period was filled with questions from students showing engagement and connection to one another… I think showcasing these types of events establishes involvement early in their college careers and leads to career and student success from the beginning.” Ferguson says. “[Claire] has used her comfort and connections to make the classroom extremely welcoming. She is wonderful!”

Traci is a Co-Facilitator of the Health Science FIG. Traci was nominated by her Peer Learning Advisor Hannah Clevenger because of her commitment to fostering a welcoming and positive environment for her students. “Traci is one of the most compassionate people I have ever met. From studying abroad with her in January to now getting to help guide these new freshmen with her, I have seen countless actions of selflessness and her going above and beyond to ensure that everyone feels seen.” Clevenger says. “Traci is full of so much light and joy, and I couldn’t be happier to lead such an amazing group of students with her. She embodies exactly what it means to be a great leader and mentor, both for the students we lead and for me.”
